Saturday 24th June

After breakfast we head to the historic city of Chester. Every chapter of history is etched into the very fabric of the city. Chester has the most complete city walls, a 1,000 year old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings and the only 700 year old Rows galleries where shopping is a delight. The Rows create a double-deck street, with steps leading up from ground level to long covered balconies, where you will find a collection of independent shops selling arts and crafts, fashion, gifts and jewellery. There is a vibrant café culture, where you can sit and people-watch.

Sunday 25th June

After breakfast we start the day with a City River & Canal Tour around the Salford Quays and Manchester Ship Canal. This 60/70 min river tour gives you an insight into the history of the area and a unique view of Manchester including Media City, Old Trafford and the disused dry docks. Salford Quays is quickly becoming a must do on the list of Manchester's place to be with the Imperial War Museum, Lowry Arts Theatre, BBC & Granada studios as well as the Lowry Outlet. In the afternoon we visit RHS Garden Bridgewater - one of the largest gardening projects undertaken in Europe in recent years. There is plenty to explore in this 154-acre site including the Walled Gardens, the Paradise Garden, Kitchen Gardens, meadows and woodlands.
