After breakfast we make our way to Belvoir Castle and Gardens. Belvoir Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland. The family has lived at Belvoir in an unbroken line for almost a thousand years. Crowning a hill in Leicestershire, its turrets and towers rise over the Vale of Belvoir like an illustration in a romantic fairytale. Walk around the Castle, and marvel at the opulent State Rooms. With over 16,000 acres to discover, you are guaranteed to appreciate the beauty of the gardens. Walk through the Japanese Woodland and the Duchess Garden. A set of landscaping plans were drawn up in 1780 by Capability Brown, and they were discovered in the Castle archives in 2013.
