Monday 17 April
We leave Devon, making stops on route and head to our hotel in Oxford with time to relax and unpack before dinner is served in the hotel restaurant.
DTuesday 18 April
After breakfast we have a one-hour guided walking tour of the historic city of Oxford
with its dreamy spires, riverside setting to learn more about the famous buildings and landmarks of this beautiful city. You have the rest of the day free to explore or shop. Why not visit the Ashmolean museum, or take a punt on the river?
Wednesday 19 April
After breakfast we head to Blenheim Palace, the seat of the Duke of Marlborough, to explore the palace and grounds at leisure. One of England's largest houses and was the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill and is a family home, a mausoleum and a national monument.
D, FEThursday 20 April
After breakfast, we visit the spectacular gardens of Cliveden, the former home of the Astor family. With views over the Thames, we have time to explore the impressive gardens and woodlands. The Grand Estate was the centre of a major scandal in 1963 when John Profumo, of Harold Macmillan's government had an affair with 19 year old Christine Keeler having met at Cliveden. The 'Profumo Affair' ended John Profumo's political career. We also have an opportunity to peek inside Cliveden House, which operates as a five-star hotel and is not usually open to the public. In the afternoon, we head to the famous waterside market town of Henley-on-Thames where we enjoy a one-hour cruise following the route of the popular regatta. You then have time to explore the town at your leisure. Henley's riverside location, surrounded by a Chiltern landscape of wooded hills and green fields, lends itself to relaxation, long lunches and quirky shopping.

After breakfast, we make our way home to South Devon with stops on route.
