Enjoy a stroll around the Meare - a boating lake like no other! The lake covers some 60 acres and the islands in the Meare were named by J M Barrie, the creator of Peter Pan. Marvel at the beautiful architecture, visit the cafes and the antique emporium.

After breakfast, we make our way to the Suffolk Punch Trust to find out more about these wonderful, endangered horses. The breed is the oldest English breed of working heavy horse. Afterwards, we enjoy a visit to the world-famous Anglo Saxon burial site of Sutton Hoo (National Trust). The hauntingly beautiful 255-acre estate is home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. We discover the story of the ship burial of an Anglo-Saxon king, with a burial mound guided tour. Explore the atmospheric 7th-century Royal Burial Ground and discover more about the world of the Anglo-Saxons and the incredible objects unearthed at Sutton Hoo. Venture into Tranmer House, the former home of Edith Pretty to discover more about the archaeological work that has taken place at Sutton Hoo.
