Cardigan Bay & Tenby

Monday 11th May

We travel to our hotel in Cardigan, with comfort stops on the way.

Tuesday 12th May

Today is 'Ceredigion' Monday, we spend the morning in Cardigan which sits on the estuary of the River Teifi at the base of Cardigan Bay. In the afternoon we enjoy a harbour cruise from New Quay and hopefully spot some dolphins and other wildlife.

Wednesday 13th May

Today it's South Pembrokeshire day, we travel to Tenby to enjoy the day in this delightful harbour town and seaside resort. Tenby boasts some of the most scenic beaches in Pembrokeshire with picturesque cobbled streets, independent shops, cafes and pubs or if you prefer visit the local museum and art gallery. Why not catch the ferry to Caldey Island, owned by a community of Reformed Cistercian monks. Visitors can explore the ancient priory and sample the famous Caldey chocolate, fudge and perfume. Boat trips run regularly from spring to late summer.

Thursday 14th May

Today we are joined by Mark our local guide for a tour of North Pembrokeshire, starting with a visit to the Dyfed Shire Horse Farm in Carnhuan, Eglwyswrw. These gentle giants have been born and bred here for over 40 years and has a strong association with the Royal Family, as the birthplace and final resting place of Dyfed Celt, aka Major Mercury, Drum Horse of the Queens Household Cavalry. We continue our tour to visit charming St. Davids, the smallest city in Britain, there will be time at leisure to stroll the picturesque lanes and browsing interesting little shops or the local Thursday market or visit the Cathedral.

Friday 15th May

After a full Welsh breakfast we return home to Devon.
