Staying at the historical Elvetham Hotel this holiday is spent discovering Hampshire's beautiful gardens, including RHS Wisley and Mottisfont Abbey Gardens. The gardens are a feast for the senses all year round, but the stunning rose garden is a particular highlight with the world famous National Collection of pre 1900 old fashioned roses. We also enjoy a relaxing barge journey aboard the ‘John Pinkerton’ on the Basingstoke Canal. There is plenty of time to admire the passing countryside, spot deer in the fields or even a glimpse of a kingfisher darting ahead of the boat.

Sunday 17th May
We leave Devon and head to Hampshire with stops on route. Arriving at our hotel with time to check-in, relax and unwind before dinner in the hotel restaurant.
DMonday 18th May
After a full English breakfast we travel to RHS Wisley which is the flagship garden of the RHS and one of the UK's most visited and best-loved gardens. Wisley is all about inspirational gardening, rather than a museum of plants and conservation. In particular, visit the mixed border and glass house borders during summer and you'll be sure to get plenty of inspiration. And a visit wouldn't be complete without stepping inside the spectacular Glasshouse, where you can take a journey around the world in plants.
D, FETuesday 19th May
After a leisurely breakfast, we have the morning to relax at this lovely hotel, there are several walks around the grounds. In the afternoon we travel to Odiham a two and a half canal cruise on the Basingstoke Canal, enjoy a peaceful pace of life.
Wednesday 20th May
Today we travel to Mottisfont. The walled garden at Mottisfont is home to the National Collection of pre-1900 old-fashioned roses, which reach their peak in early summer. Unlike modern species, old-fashioned roses tend to flower just once a year, so their blooming season is an extraordinary annual sight. Some blooms remain on walls and arches, complemented by companion planting. Over 500 varieties of rose bloom in Mottisfont's walled garden at its peak. After a leisurely breakfast we make our way to Winchester for some free time before heading home to Devon.
