Monday 14 October
We leave Devon in the morning and travel to our hotel in Cambridge, with comfort stops on route, arriving with time to unpack and settle in before dinner.
DTuesday 15 October
After breakfast, enjoy a full day's visit to Britain's best kept secret, Bletchley Park - a heritage site and vibrant tourist attraction. You will be able to explore some of the iconic WW2 codebreaking huts and blocks and marvel at the astonishing achievements of the Codebreakers whose work is said to have helped shorten the war by two years.
D, FEWedneday 16 October
Today we travel to Cambridge and start the day with a two hour guided walking tour of Cambridge University which will include Trinity Hall where Stephen Hawking studied for his PhD in Astrophysics in the 1960s. We also visit Cambridge's oldest college, Peterhouse, before making our way to the iconic Kings' College (once attended by Alan Turing, the 'father' of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence). In the afternoon you have free time to explore the City of Cambridge. (Please note: Access to the colleges cannot always be guaranteed as they are closed during exam periods and at other times when events are being held.)
D, FEThursday 17 October
After a leisurely breakfast we spend the day at IWM Duxford where you can stand in awe of the World's most famous aircraft at this historic museum. Be dwarfed by the B-52 and Concorde; get up close to the famous Second World War classics including the Spitfire, Lancaster and Tiger Moth and stare up into the guts of the Vulcan bomber.
D, FEFriday 18 October
After a full English breakfast, we return home to South Devon with comfort stops on route, arriving back early evening.
