Wednesday 2nd July
Leaving Devon in the morning we travel to Bowood House to discover the rich and fascinating history of Bowood House and the Lansdowne family. Set within 100 acres of beautifully landscaped 'Capability' Brown Parkland. Surrounding the Georgian House is an Italian-inspired Terrace Garden, a beautiful herbaceous border, Arboretum, Cascades and Hermits Caves plus a Doric Temple. After our visit we travel on to our hotel in time for dinner.
Thursday 3rd July
After a full English breakfast we make our way to Hampton Court Palace for the world's biggest annual flower show, arriving as the show opens at 10 am. The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show is the largest flower show in the world. The show features show gardens, floral marquees and pavilions, talks and demonstrations. Set on the north and south sides of the Long Water in Hampton Court Park, it is the second major national show after the Chelsea Flower Show but has a different character, focusing more on environmental issues, growing your own food and vegetables and cookery, while also offering opportunities to buy gardening accessories, plants and flowers. The coach will park in the Hampton Court Green car park. To reach the showground it is a 20 - 25-minute walk that involves using a footbridge across the road outside the palace.
We leave Hampton Court later in the afternoon to travel back home to Devon with stops on route.
D=Dinner, FE=Full English Breakfast
