In Search of 3 Detectives...

This holiday investigates the locations used by three of the most popular TV detectives: DCI Barnaby in Midsomer Murders; DCI Morse in Inspector Morse; and Sherlock Holmes.

The clues lead us to Oxford, Waddesdon Manor, Brill, Chenies Manor House and 221b Baker Street, London. We head for the ‘dreaming spires’ of Oxford where a private guided walking tour will follow in the footsteps of DCI Morse and his successor, DI Lewis. Afterwards we visit the National Trust’s Waddesdon Manor, built by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild between 1874 and 1885 to display his outstanding collection of arts and to entertain the fashionable world. It featured in the Midsomer Murders episode ‘Death of a Stranger’.

We continue to the hill-top village of Brill, the location for more episodes of Midsomer Murders, with a 17th century windmill. In contrast with the rural delights of Midsomer we drive into London to walk in the footsteps of Sherlock Holmes who will escort us to his home at 221b Baker Street. We then take a walking tour around the back streets of Victorian London.
