The festive spirit starts as we leave Devon and builds as we arrive at our Sandown hotel where you'll be welcomed into the Yuletide spirit. No trip to the island would be complete without a visit to Osborne House, the royal seaside palace where Queen Victoria lived with her beloved Prince Albert and their nine children. As you wander through this palace you get a real glimpse into what royal family life was like 200 years ago. Monday 1st Dec
We leave Devon and head to the beautiful Isle of Wight via the Lymington to Yarmouth ferry, relax with tea, coffee and mince pies on arrival. Enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant followed by an evening of music and dancing in the hotel ballroom.
Tuesday 2nd Dec
After a full English breakfast, we take a trip to Ryde, a popular seaside town noted for its miles of excellent sandy beaches, backed by a long Esplanade, Ryde's Grade II listed Georgian pier stretches over half a mile out into the Solent. Returning to the hotel in the afternoon you could take a walk along the seafront before tea or coffee and biscuits in the hotel lounge bar followed by a Christmas Quiz. At 6pm, there is a wine reception with a visit from one of Santa's special helpers in the ballroom followed by a Traditional Christmas Dinner in the main restaurant. Enjoy more music and dancing in the ballroom after dinner.
D, FEWednesday 3rd Dec
After breakfast we visit Osborne House, the palatial home on the island of Queen Victoria. Stroll through the garden terraces where the stunning views across the Solent reminded Prince Albert of the Bay of Naples. On returning to our hotel tea, coffee and Christmas cake is served from 4pm in the lounge bar. Dinner is served later in the main restaurant with an evening of music and dancing in the ballroom.
D, FEThursday 4th Dec
New Years Eve - After breakfast, we take a trip to Bust Bee's Garden Centre with a scenic ride on the way back. Tea, coffee and Stollen will be served in the lounge in the afternoon with a candlelit dinner in the restaurant in the evening. Enjoy a party night in the ballroom with dancing, music and entertainment.
D, FEFriday 5th Dec
After breakfast we head home to South Devon via the Yarmouth-Lymington ferry, with comfort stops on route.
