There will be plenty of stops to admire the scenery and take photographs. Explore the Lakes from the water too, as we board our boat and cruise Lake Windemere from Bowness to Ambleside. Travelling on to Grasmere to enjoy some free time in this historic village much loved by William Wordsworth, with a chance to sample the legendary Grasmere Gingerbread!

DTuesday 24th June
This morning we travel to Bowness in Windermere and enjoy an Island cruise on Lake Windermere. We then visit the popular tourist destinations of Ambleside and Grasmere where most of the buildings date back to the 19th Century, famously associated with the poet William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy Wordsworth. This village is nestled at the foot of some spectacular fells and has its own lake and hosts small independent village shops, pubs and cafes and where you are able to taste the legendary Grasmere Gingerbread!
D, FEWednesday 25th June
After a hearty breakfast we are collected by 'The Mountain Goat' for our classic adventure tour by minibus of this beautiful area of Cumbria, going places where a large coach cannot reach. Explore the western part of the Lakes by discovering the spectacular passes such as Wrynose and Hardknott. Both these passes boast extraordinary scenery and make an incredible experience driving over. You'll head toward the impressive Wastwater, England's deepest and most spectacular lake. Then you'll make your way over to Ravenglass and Eskdale railway and enjoy a ride along a heritage railway enjoy the views of the Eskdale valley. A truly spectacular day out.
D, FEThursday 26th June
Today we travel to Keswick and today is market day in this pretty town. The weekly market has over 70 stalls selling a vast array of different items from local produce to handmade gifts, household goods to pottery and takeaway foods so plenty of things to see. With plenty of free time you could also visit the Cumberland Pencil Museum or why not try one of the many boating trips that are offered around Lake Derwentwater.

After a full Cumbrian breakfast we return home to South Devon.
