We start our trip with a visit to the beautiful City of Salisbury, with plenty of time to shop or sightsee. There are so many places to visit – the Cathedral, the museum, stroll along the medieval streets and soak up the history and heritage or enjoy some shopping. Salisbury has been welcoming travellers since 1227. The Cathedral Close houses attractions like Mompesson House, the Rifles Military Museum and Salisbury Museum. Eating out in Salisbury is a pleasure thanks to its wide variety of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. Then enjoy a day exploring the stunning city of Winchester, where the Christmas market will just have opened. With a captivating history and magnificent architecture, the Cathedral has been a place of worship for over 900 years. Suggested places to visit include the Great Hall, Winchester College, the imposing Cathedral, and the National Trust’s Winchester City Mill, a rare surviving example of an urban working corn mill. Why not take in the Winchester City Museum which documents the city’s history from the Iron Age through to the present day. A must-see is the Royal Green Jackets (Rifles) Museum, home to a variety of uniforms and medals. Take time to explore the winding streets and the mix of independent shops that fill them. On Sunday, enjoy a full day at Longleat, our ticket includes a drive through the Safari Park, entrance to the Gardens, jungle cruise, jungle kingdom and the Festival of Light, a must-see festival of magnificent Chinese lanterns, beaming with colour and fascinating structures.
