...have performed at the Royal Albert Hall for over 40 years. Originally these concerts were given in commemoration of Sir Malcolm Sargent who, for some 20 years, was the Honorary Musical Advisor to the Royal Marines Band Service. Following the death of Earl Mountbatten of Burma, who was Life Colonel Commandant Royal Marines, the concerts were renamed in 1980. The link with Sir Malcolm Sargent continues through the charity, CLIC Sargent, which together with Royal Navy and Royal Marines charities, is the principal beneficiary of the money raised by these concerts.
