Fri 6th February
We head to Oxford from South Devon, arriving at our hotel with time to check in and relax before enjoying dinner in one of the many restaurants in Oxford.
Sat 7th February
Enjoy a free day to explore Oxford. There are numerous major tourist attractions including the iconic Bodleian Library, Carfax Tower, which offers superb views over the city. There is the historic covered market with its many tourist shops. Explore the wide streets, intricate network of smaller lanes with historic buildings, stop and unwind with great food and drink and enjoy the familiar sights used in the filming of several TV dramas including Inspector Morse and Harry Potter. You could choose to take a cruise on the River Thames, join a hop-on-hop-off bus to see the sights, or tour the hallowed halls of the University. Visit the first-ever public museum - the Ashmoleum. Discover ancient Greek and Roman statues, Egyptian mummies and Lawrence of Arabia's robes. Full of interesting artifacts and exhibitions, the museum is sure to satisfy every curious mind. Alternatively, head over to the Museum of Oxford, where you can dive into the city's rich past. Oxford is known across the world for its history and architecture, something you can see for yourself when you climb the Saxon St George's Tower at Oxford Castle, the city's oldest building. Go underground to the 900-year-old crypt, take a tour of the prison and then explore the castle in your own time, for a great day of spooky fun.

After breakfast in the hotel, you have the morning free in Oxford before we head back to South Devon, arriving home early evening, with stops on route.
