Book NowWe start our holiday with a visit to Anglesey, and a boat cruise to Puffin Island. The following day we take a train ride on the Snowdon Railway, this majestic mountain railway adventure has breathtaking views. On Thursday, for complete contrast we visit the Italianate private village of Portmeirion, famed as the setting for The Prisoner starring Patrick McGoohan as Number Six.

Monday 27th July
We leave Devon and head to our hotel nestled at the foot of the Snowdonia Mountain range with stops on route. Arriving with time to settle in and unpack, before enjoying dinner in the hotel restaurant.
DTuesday 28th July
This morning we travel over the Menai Bridge to the Isle of Anglesey, stopping at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, famous for having the longest place name in an English-speaking country. Which means St Mary's Church in the hollow of the rapid whirlpool of Llantysilio of the red cave. The Name was artificially contrived in the 1860s as a Publicity stunt. We visit Beaumaris with its medieval castle, lovely beach and Victorian pier. While there we relax on a leisurely boat cruise to Puffin Island. Located at the NE entrance of the Menai Strait this little island hosts an abundance of wildlife.

Today we take a ride on The Snowdon Mountain Railway, at 3,560ft, Mount Snowdon is the highest mountain in England and Wales. In the afternoon we have free time to relax.
D, FEThursday 30th July
After a hearty Welsh breakfast, we visit Portmeirion. Nestled between the Dwyryd estuary and the majestic Snowdonia mountains, Portmeirion Village is a private village resort and gardens, set on its own peninsula with vistas in every direction and endless pathways to explore. Soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere and find hidden gems such as the Dog Cemetery and the Chinese lake or find your own special place amongst the exotic plants, ancient trees and secret coves. In the afternoon we will have some time to explore the town of Caernafon.

After breakfast we head home to South Devon with comfort stops on route.
