Enjoy a boat cruise to the Needles with fantastic views of the island coastline. We visit Osborne House, the palatial home on the island of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert and take a ride on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway.
Situated on Sandowns seafront enjoys panoramic views over Sandown and Shanklin Bay. The lounge & bar boast stunning views of Sandown Bay. Saturday 12th June
We leave Devon and head to the beautiful Isle of Wight via the Lymington to Yarmouth ferry, arriving in time to unpack and relax before we enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Sunday 13th June
Today we travel to Cowes and take a boat Cruise to the Needles, starting in Cowes Harbour, world famous for yachting, out into the Solent with fantastic views of the Island coastline, Hurst Castle and the Victorian Forts. We then get up close to the 19th Century active Needle Lighthouse. The three white chalk stacks leading up to the Needles Lighthouse are one of the Isle of Wight's most iconic and most photographed sights. Afterwards we spend some free time in Cowes.
D, FEMonday 14th June
After breakfast we visit Osborne House, the palatial home on the island of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Stroll through the garden terraces where the stunning views across the Solent reminded Prince Albert of the Bay of Naples and admire its dazzling interiors and art collection, gardens that reflected their personal passions, taste and style.
D, FETuesday 15th June
Today we step back to a bygone era when steam power was the order of the day. On the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, thrill to the sight and sound of powerful majestic steam engines and breathe in the evocative smells of a real steam railway. Settle back in beautifully restored Victorian and Edwardian carriages and discover an idyllic view of the Island's unspoilt countryside. We spend the rest of the day in Ryde, known for its expansive sandy beaches, historic pier (the 4th longest in the UK), and Victorian architecture.
D, FEWednesday 16th June
After breakfast we head home to South Devon via the Yarmouth to Lymington ferry, with comfort stops on route.
