A Merseyside Christmas

We travel to Liverpool with comfort stops on the way.

Wednesday 18th Nov

After a leisurely breakfast we travel to the heart of Chester where its Christmas Market will be in full swing. A handmade, historical, magical experience awaits you with 80 traders situated in the square around the town hall. Discover unique, locally made produce, handmade crafts, jewellery, accessories, stocking fillers and plenty more festive finds! There will also be time to explore this historic city, it has the most complete city walls and largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus 1000-year-old cathedral and 700-year-old unique shopping rows. There are lots of attractions to enjoy, for example a 30-minute river cruise on the River Dee, or a self-guided tour of the Medieval Cathedral to discover the extraordinary story behind its imposing walls. Chester's hop-on-hop-off sightseeing bus is a great way to see the city. Alternatively, why not enjoy a spot of retail therapy or lunch at one of the many lovely restaurants.

Thursday 19th Nov

Today enjoy free time to explore Liverpool. The Christmas market promises a delightful array of festive treats, crafts, and winter fairground rides. Indulge in a variety of food options to suit every palate and explore a wide range of craft and gift traders offering unique items such as jewellery, Christmas ornaments, hand-crafted leather journals, unique art, bottles of festive tipple, delicious cheese, and much more. With time to also explore world-class tourist attractions, Liverpool hosts more museums and galleries anywhere outside of London and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site so there is plenty to see and do, not forgetting the City's wide range of retail shops.

Friday 20th Nov

After a full English breakfast we return home to South Devon.
